In this scene:
Jake the mus' daughter Gracie always keeps a diary. Which Jake is reading at the start of this scene. His daughter Gracie was raped by her Uncle Bully, the guy who is getting beaten. She wrote that her Uncle Bully raped her in her diary then she hung herself. This is after she has died and they found her diary and read this page.
